Grant Hamady | 1938–2023
The Hamady name has been part of Genesee County for generations. Before Grant ever opened a real estate office, his family built Hamady Brothers into a chain of 30 grocery stores across the county — a business so woven into daily life here that locals used "Hamady bags" as a common term for grocery bags. Grant carried that name and that community standing into real estate when he founded Grant Hamady Realty in 1971.
For more than fifty years, he worked this market. He was here through the auto industry contractions that reshaped Genesee County, through the 2008 financial crisis, and through every kind of transaction a local market can produce. He knew this area the way only decades of showing up can teach you — the neighborhoods, the people, the history behind the addresses.
Grant passed away in April of 2023.
