The name on the door means something here
In Flint, the Hamady name fed the town before it ever sold it a home — from the Hamady Bros. grocery stores founded in 1911 to more than five decades of real estate. What started as one man building a client base on handshakes and referrals grew into a full-service brokerage — residential sales, property management, rentals, and senior living services — still run by the family and partners who answer the phone themselves.
In 2026, the firm began its newest chapter: stepping away from a national franchise to become HamadyRobinson, REALTORS® — an independent brand that honors the heritage of the Hamady family and the forward-looking leadership of co-owners David Hamady and Andrea Robinson. A new name. A renewed vision. A continued legacy.
Our history, year by year

The first Hamady Bros. store opens in Flint
Cousins Michael and Kamol Hamady, immigrants from Lebanon who called themselves brothers, open a small grocery at East Dayton Street and Industrial Avenue — the start of a Flint institution.

Feeding the Sit-Down Strikers
During the Great Sit-Down Strike at General Motors, Hamady Bros. sends truckloads of groceries to the families of striking autoworkers — a bond with Flint’s working families the city never forgot.

Every grocery bag is a “Hamady sack”
At its height the chain grows to some three dozen stores and more than a thousand employees across Genesee County — and the family name becomes part of everyday Flint vocabulary.

Grant Hamady carries the name into real estate
Grant Hamady becomes a real estate professional in Flint and starts building a base of loyal customers. Property management begins with the real estate company: as Grant put it, “customers kept asking me to manage their rentals.”

Grant Hamady, Inc. takes root
The brokerage builds its reputation on professionalism, deep market knowledge, and commitment to the community — serving thousands of clients across Genesee County and beyond.

David Hamady & Andrea Robinson take a leadership role
Soon after the beginning of 2011, David Hamady and Andrea Robinson take leadership roles and manage the company alongside their father.
WEICHERT, REALTORS® — Grant Hamady
The company joins the Weichert franchise in 2015. That relationship ends in November 2025.

David and Andrea become equal partners
Until their father passed away in April 2023, Andrea and David each held 25% of the company while he held 50%. When he passed, Andrea and David became equal partners.
We become HamadyRobinson, REALTORS®
In November 2025, the company becomes HamadyRobinson, REALTORS® — an independent, equal-partner firm continuing the family business in real estate and property management.

A family business still moving forward
David and Andrea continue the company their father built, serving buyers, sellers, rental owners, and tenants across Genesee County and Mid-Michigan.
What five decades taught us
Respect
Every client, every home, every price point. We treat your investment the way we'd treat our own — because our name is on the sign in the yard.
Reliability
Fifty years in the same community means we can't hide from our work. We show up, we follow through, and we're still here when you need us next.
Relationships
Our business is built on client referrals — relationships that last long after closing day, often across generations of the same family.
Be part of our story
Whether you're buying your first home, selling a family house, or looking for someone to manage your rental — talk to the team whose name has meant real estate in Genesee County since 1971.
